A sun-kissed island, the sparkling turquoise sea and a love story waiting to be rediscovered…
In the summer of 1972, Tanya arrives on Capri ready for adventure. A chance moment sees her captured in a now-iconic fashion photograph, but it’s the island itself, and handsome sandal maker Enrico, who truly steal her heart. Then tragedy strikes, and Tanya leaves without saying goodbye.
More than fifty years later, the glamorous Tellini fashion house is returning to Capri for a glittering anniversary celebration – and they want the mysterious girl from that famous photograph as their guest of honour. Reluctantly, Tanya agrees to return to the island, accompanied by her daughter Hannah, who is nursing a broken heart of her own.
As both women are swept into the world of high fashion and creative craftsmanship, Capri begins to work its magic once more. Old feelings resurface, new romances spark, and the past refuses to stay buried.
Can the island offer them both a second chance at love?

My thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read an early digital edition. Although this isn’t part of a blog tour and there were no posting commitments attached, I was genuinely excited to return to another Victoria Springfield novel. Her books have become ones I eagerly look forward to, always promising beautiful settings, engaging characters and stories that are as heartfelt as they are uplifting. Having thoroughly enjoyed her previous novels, I was curious to discover where this latest journey would take me.

My Review
There are some books that gently draw you in before quietly taking over your life, and Seven Days on the Italian Island did exactly that. I intended to savour this one over several days, but once I became immersed in Tanya and Hannah’s story, putting it down simply wasn’t an option. I read it across two days, constantly wanting “just one more chapter” until I finally reached the beautifully satisfying conclusion.
Although the story unfolds at an unhurried pace, it never once feels slow. Every chapter reveals another small piece of the puzzle surrounding that unforgettable summer of 1972, and I found myself completely invested in discovering what had really happened on Capri all those years before. So many lives had been shaped by unanswered questions, misunderstandings and conversations that never took place. As each layer was gradually uncovered, I became increasingly desperate to know the truth.
What I loved most was the way Victoria Springfield created genuine tension without ever stepping into thriller territory. This is very much a story of love, family, forgiveness and second chances, yet there is an underlying uncertainty that keeps the pages turning. As a reader, I was never quite sure which direction the story would take or how the past would finally unravel, and that uncertainty made it impossible not to keep reading.
Capri itself provides the perfect backdrop, from its sparkling coastline to its atmosphere of timeless elegance, while the fashion world and the island’s traditional craftsmanship add another layer of charm to an already captivating story. Yet, for me, it was always the characters who remained at the heart of the novel. Their emotions felt authentic, their relationships believable, and I found myself hoping every one of them would finally find the peace they had been searching for over so many years.
I’ve loved every Victoria Springfield novel I’ve read, but this may just be my favourite yet. It has all the warmth, romance and escapism I’ve come to expect, while adding an emotional depth and compelling sense of intrigue that kept me completely absorbed from beginning to end. Heartfelt, uplifting and impossible to put down, Seven Days on the Italian Island is a novel I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
