Out of the Silence by Owen Mullen

I am so pleased to be reviewing the latest release from the bestselling author Owen Mullen. Out of the Silence is a compelling revenge thriller that will stay with you long after the final page.

SYNOPSIS

A powerful new thriller from a critically-acclaimed and bestselling author.

Star investigative reporter Ralph Buchanan’s glory days are behind him. His newspaper has banished him to Pakistan, not knowing the greatest moment of his long career is waiting for him there.

When Simone Jasnin asks him to help expose a grave injustice, he finds himself embroiled in a harrowing tale that began in a dusty settlement in rural Punjab, setting in motion a chain of events that will change the lives of everyone involved.

Seven years later in the city of Lahore, members of a prominent family are being brutally murdered one by one. The only clue is a hand-carved wooden bangle left at the scene of each crime.

As the list of suspects grows and the tension mounts, Ralph realises the answers might be closer to home than he ever thought possible.

Solving the mystery will put him back on top but at what cost?

Only when the smoke clears will the killing stop and honour be satisfied…

MOMO’s REVIEW

As  followers of my blog will be aware I highly recommend every book written by the very talented Scottish author, Owen Mullen. I my opinon, Owen Mullen writes with true belief and passion, no matter the subject, that I repeatedly find myself captivated from start to finish.

Out of the Silence is very different from his previous books. Here we have a story with heartbreaking human interest – the role of many women in Pakistan and the unspoken treatment they are subjected to day after day, year after year. There is a beautiful love story woven through the story in between the torture and revenge killings. In true Owen Mullen style, we are given a page-turner of a book which will have you reading long into the night until you reach the final conclusion.  However the story of Afra will stay with you long after you have finished the book.

Thank you to Owen Mullen for the opportunity to read and review this awesome five star intriguing read.
