Tracy Martin-Summers
Tracy was born in Harrow Weald, Middlesex, growing up in a loving family home. She married her first husband in 1990, has two grown up children and two granddaughters.
Tracy studied a variety of topics via moduled learning, embarking on City and Guilds and NVQ courses, ranging from a brief spell in hairdressing to administration and now works for a utility company in North West London.
Tracy has numerous hobbies ranging from landscape painting to landscape gardening and always likes to paint the scene, even if it’s changing the colour scheme,yet again, within her home.
Tracy has always enjoyed writing and used to write short stories for her own children’s amusement but it has only been in the last few years that she has taken this more seriously and has gone on to write her first police procedural psychological thriller series, comprising Gordon Square, Arlington Terrace and Keeper’s Lodge.
Tracy married her second husband in 2014 and now lives in Bedfordshire in a sleepy hamlet where she writes whenever she gets a spare moment.

A Peaceful Scottish Escape That Was Anything But Ordinary
All His Wives was a story that hooked me before I’d even opened it – set in the Scottish Highlands, an area I love for its peaceful, breathtaking scenery. Perfect for a relaxing weekend escape, although this is a thriller, so perhaps I should have known better! The book opens with a prologue that immediately raises questions, as a woman desperately tries to escape from a man. Does she get away? At this point, we don’t know – but it certainly made me want to find out more.
The story then begins with Kate and Luke joining Pete and Becky for a weekend at their remote cabin, beautifully situated beside the water and surrounded by the Scottish landscape. Pete and Becky are welcoming hosts, and once the music is playing and the wine is flowing, Kate and Luke quickly relax and are genuinely enjoying their visit. As a reader of thrillers, I was never going to believe that four people enjoying a peaceful weekend in a remote cabin was going to remain quite this idyllic.
Once the story really gets going, I found myself increasingly curious. I had theories along the way and spent a lot of time trying to work out what I could trust, but I certainly didn’t see everything coming. I read this book in a single day and, whenever I did put it down, I found myself picking it straight back up again because I needed to know what happened next.
One thing I found interesting was the way the central female character is written. I found myself rooting for her as she tried to make sense of everything. I wanted to see those fragmented memories and that sense of self come into focus, with the pieces finally fitting together and making sense rather than simply accepting the explanations being given. I didn’t quite form an emotional connection with this character. I was fully invested in her journey and needed to see how everything was unfolding, but the sense of connection wasn’t there in the same way as I’d expect. And him? Let’s just say I had very strong feelings about him throughout the book!
As the pieces of the jigsaw gradually begin to come together, I enjoyed watching the picture take shape. But oh, there was so much more to that picture than even I could have imagined! And then we get to the ending – which I loved. After spending so much of the book questioning what was happening, I found the conclusion incredibly satisfying. It brought everything together in a way that worked for me and gave me the payoff I had been hoping for.
All His Wives kept me guessing from beginning to end, and I was completely absorbed in the story and needed to know how everything would unfold. The Scottish Highlands setting and that very satisfying ending made this a thriller I would happily recommend.
