My Review
A Thriller That Demands Your Attention
This was a tense, fast-paced thriller with a strong plot and well-developed characters that completely absorbed my attention. From the early chapters, the sense of urgency is intense and unrelenting, and the writing does a great job of keeping the pressure high. It’s one of those books where the outside world fades away — I read it in a single day, forgot all about the world around me and couldn’t stop turning the pages because I needed to know how it would all unfold.
The story is gripping and emotionally charged, with several moments where my pulse was racing. The author clearly knows how to build suspense and maintain momentum, making this a very compulsive read.
For me personally, a couple of small expectation-related things slightly affected my overall enjoyment rather than the quality of the story itself. I worked out the ending earlier than I would have liked (likely because I read a lot in this genre), and the cover image led me to picture a younger child, which subtly shaped how I connected with the story at first. These were very minor points and didn’t take away from how engaging and well-written the book is overall.
A strong, tense thriller that’s hard to put down, and one I’d happily recommend.
