👩🏻💻 My Review
I loved this book.
From the moment I started reading, I was completely captivated by The Lost Bookshop. It is beautifully written, wonderfully engaging and one of those stories that becomes increasingly difficult to put down the further you get into it.
At the heart of the story are Opaline, Martha and Henry, three characters who have spent too long feeling like the side characters in their own lives. I loved getting to know them and watching their individual stories gradually unfold. They are charming, memorable and, at times, wonderfully comical, bringing warmth and personality to the story alongside its more thought-provoking moments.
Evie Woods reveals the story beautifully, weaving together different lives, secrets and unexpected twists while maintaining that wonderful sense of magic throughout. There were moments when I thought I knew where the story was taking me, only to discover that things were not quite as they seemed.
And then, of course, there is the bookshop itself.
There is something irresistible about a story filled with books, hidden secrets and the possibility of a bookshop just waiting to be discovered. I loved the magical quality surrounding it and the sense of wonder it brought to the story without overwhelming the characters and their own journeys.
The Lost Bookshop was captivating, thought-provoking and completely enthralling. It gave me characters I cared about, mysteries I wanted to unravel and that wonderful feeling of being completely lost inside a story.
I loved every moment and genuinely didn’t want it to end.
There are some books you finish and immediately wish you could forget everything you’ve just read, simply so you could go back to the beginning and experience it all again for the very first time. The Lost Bookshop is one of those books.
DISCLOSURE: I purchased this book myself.
