MOMOBOOKDIARY REVIEW
This is the first Laura Barnard book I have read.
Click here to see my blog post when I was part of the author’s cover reveal earlier this month.
I was excited to read this book as the synopsis caught my attention immediately, it seemed just my type of fun read. I was a bit surprised by the opening chapter as it starts with a quite graphic sex scene however once I was into the story I quickly became swept along with the authors way of writing.
There are a few sexually graphic scenes and some sexual language used throughout the book but the author has written these from a fun point of view which had me smiling and laughing rather than cringing – you know what I mean!
The author has a modern, fun way of telling the story of Alice and Tom and I really did enjoy the journey of the ‘will they – won’t they’ and reading quicker and quicker to find out what happens.
Laura Barnard has brilliantly introduced all the characters in such a way that I felt I knew them well – they were not just names – and there are a lot of friends to remember.
I especially loved the character of Alice – her clothes sound fantastic and I’d love to be able to be brave enough to wear her style!
It is very much a standalone story however I feel I should now read the first two books in the Babes of Brighton series to get the back stories on the friends.
Thank you to Laura Barnard for the opportunity to read and review this novel prior to publication.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Laura Barnard lives in Hertfordshire, UK and writes romantic comedy or ‘chick lit’ as its so often described. In her spare time she enjoys drinking her body weight in tea, indulging in cupcakes the size of her face and drooling over hunks like Jamie Dornan, Ryan Gosling and Leo Dicaprio.
She enjoys wearing yoga pants and reading fitness magazines while sitting on the sofa eating chocolate. She’s a real fan of the power nap and of course READING!
She writes not to get rich or famous, but because she LOVES writing. Even if one person tells her they enjoyed her book it makes the midnight typing worth it!
