August 2024
As followers may have noticed I am still sharing my current read every day on instagram. This has been more fun than I expected and it ensures that I am making good time each day to sit down and focus on relaxing with a book. I am very pleased to say there are less DNFs in August than there were in previous months – I am certainly more swayed to reading what I want to read over what I think I should be reading.
I have also gave this blog a make-over and even upgraded to paying for no adverts * I hate adverts when I am trying to read so I don’t see why I should allow them on my own blog * Please let me know if there are any faulty links or if I’ve messed up anywhere. Are these colours good? I have not gone back to amend the layout etc of older reviews, as there is too many books to be reading and simply not enough time….
I can’t get used to the evenings getting dark so early, but it means the reading chair feels even more cosy! Hope everyone is enjoying the last of the summer days we have been having between rain showers.
July 2024
I’m really enjoying being able to sit and read peacefully – forgot how good life could be! I felt I could step up on last month’s challenge by sharing my current reads on Instagram daily. My plan is to work on my #ToBeRead bookcase rather than buying new books.
I am aware that I no longer have the followers I once had, which is to be expected after being offline for so long. However, I am back (health update available on the About MoMo page if you’re interested) and am now able to quiet my ND brain enough to enjoy reading again. If you’re seeing this and still follow me, thank you! I hope to share some worthwhile content. There are so many books I want to read, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
June 2024
Still here… I signed up to read and review a couple of books. I then set myself the challenge to read every day for at least an hour – most days I was reading for longer.
May 2024
I’m back…. this month I have been able to carve out some time to sit and read quietly.
January 2022
I intend to focus on #beatthebacklog this year as I have so many books all over the flat. There are so many waiting to be read and reviewed. I plan share a round up of all the books I read each month.
April 2020
I received my #BookFairyWings in February 2020, just before the world went into isolation due to Covid-19. I was so grateful to have joined such a wonderful group of people who quickly became good friends. We pulled together to create this short video showing we were still able to help with sharing books.

Thank you to my friend Shz for drawing the featured image of my Jack Russell, Birsay. I will be using this around the site and other social media, replacing the current image.
August 2018
Life is still tough but I am finding some peace from reading and reviewing. I have connected with a few authors and bloggers on both facebook and twitter and hope to become more involved in the book world in time.
July 2018
I am back. I have been dealing with a few personal issues and due to ill health I am currently unable to work. However, recently I have managed to pick up a book and follow the story through to the end. I hope to read and review regularly. Thank you to everyone who is still following my blog, twitter and facebook.

I am currently full-time carer for my mum in Orkney. While mum is resting or sleeping I am finding reading is the best way to relax and keep quiet – when not walking Birsay of course!
I am getting through so many books and clearing the shelves quite quickly so wanted to record what I am reading as I go. I am enjoying the books but find that once I’ve moved on to the next I don’t always remember the story or much detail about the book I finished the previous week….. hoping this helps me keep track!
