This is an ingenious poultry-based parody of the much loved horror film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974).
WRITTEN BY CHRIS ALLEN
Chris Allen delivers a creative script in which he has included tweaks from the original motion picture into this thrilling 20 page full colour comic. Chris has added some of his jokes into the story whilst retaining the thrill of the gruesome movie. Chris has also considered those who have never seen the original film and made this an enjoyable read! I like the way he can add a comment to make you laugh while characters are being killed all around. He certainly knows how to use the comic layout to his advantage.
This is another well written spoof, with birds replacing the original characters. I found fun and would happily recommend.
ART by Juan Fleites
The artwork is fun and shows great expression from the feathered characters! Once again it is clear to see that writer and artist work closely to bring this fantastic parody to life.
COLOURS AND LETTERS BY CHRIS ALLEN
The detailed colouring and lettering sets the tone of the comic. The lettering is perfectly sized throughout the story and draws the eye where it needs to be.
OVERALL
Swampline Comics have produced their Feathered Feature comic ‘The Egg-xas Chainsaw Massacre‘ with the original film characters replaced with birds. This gives a fun new look on an old loved horror. Once again Swampline Comics have delivered all you can ask for, and more!
