The Night He Flew Home!

Swampline Comics presents Henoween

Trick or Treat? When Michael Flyers comes home, he’s sure to set ruffle some feathers and soon, the whole town is in a flap.

Henoween, The latest in the “Feathered Frights” series of horror movie parody comics bring to life the classic movie as you’ve never seen it before.

On a cold Halloween night in 1963, six year old Michael Flyers brutally slaughtered his 17-year-old sister, Judith. He was sentenced and locked away for 15 years. But on October 30, 1978, while being transferred for a court date, a 21-year-old Michael Flyers steals a car and escapes. He returns to his quiet hometown where he looks for his next victims.

This is an ingenious parody of the horror film, Halloween (1978), as only Swampline Comics could create!

An escaped mental patient locked up as a child for murdering his own sister, doesn’t seem the ideal scenario for comedy, however Chris Allen (writer) handles it in such a way that, in combination with the brilliant expressions of the victims by Huitzi Trujano (artist), you can’t help but smile at the carnage that ensues.

Chris has added jokes to fit the comic layout, making the story work brilliantly whilst keeping the essential story.

Huitzi Trujano (artist) has created fun, expressive characters. The excellent working relationship between writer and artist is clear to see.

Chris Allen (colours and letters) displays his awesome artistic talents with bright colours to bolster the comedic atmosphere, giving us fun animated characters.

These two have perfected their aim in brining the movie to parody comic leaving the reader laughing along just the same.

Swampline Comics have produced another Feathered Feature comic ‘Henoween’ replacing the human characters with birds and it is awesome.

I am not generally a horror movie fan however this comic made me laugh so much! It is a fun story even if you have never seen the original movie but I am sure a knowledge of the film will make it even better.
