Christmas (#2)
Family, Friends and Festive Fun!
An absorbing novel about family, love and friendship from the bestselling author of Last Christmas.
With four children, a Christmas cookbook to write, and her mum suffering from dementia, Cat Tinsall has plenty to juggle. When her eldest daughter, Mel, starts going off the rails, Cat has even more on her plate.
Pippa Holliday adores her family, although often finds her hands full. When Dan is involved in a terrible accident, Pippa’s world is suddenly turned upside down.
Balancing her job as a school teacher with twins and her step-son Steven isn’t easy for Marianne North. With her husband’s ex causing trouble, life is getting even trickier.
As Cat, Pippa and Marianne help each other through a difficult year, they’re all hoping for a much brighter Christmas.
MOMOBOOKDIARY REVIEW
As I am sure you will be aware by now I love a good Christmas book at this time of year.
After reading Julia Williams’ It’s A Wonderful Life I knew I would have to read more – check out her Amazon Author Page for all available books (there are lots of Christmas stories). This cover and blurb show this is another brilliant Christmas tale and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in.
This story follows three ladies – Cat, Pippa and Marianne – and their families. There is a lot going on in the story and it was fast paced – which I prefer – and was pulled together brilliantly. It is not focused only on Christmas but the story takes places throughout the whole year which lets the story build up towards the perfect Christmas novel.
I would suggest reading Julia Williams ‘Last Christmas’ before this one as ‘A Merry Little Christmas’ will be a much more enjoyable read knowing the background story to the characters. This book has a brilliant, realistic, ending!!
This will certainly get you in the festive mood – I would recommend reading curled up with a big blanket and a hot chocolate.
